Joca Torres is an artist who seeks, through his work, to criticize the media and culture. He proposes to destabilize what we understand about normality, however, he does not do so through provocation or violent themes. For his twenty-one years and the generation in which he was born, he has always been in contact with technology, visual media and popular culture, which he has taken as tools and inspiration, combining them at will and in conditions of absolute freedom to generate sensitive products that propose several meanings while creating a new one and questioning the original. His work then have a tendency to be made of culture, icons and media that criticize themselves, an inclination that for generational and personal reasons, the artist mimics in his philosophy of life and art creation, thus turning his works into an extension of itself.
